Bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) are majestic birds of prey native to North America.
In 1782, the Continental Congress chose the bald eagle as the national emblem because of its strength and majestic appearance.
In the wild, bald eagles can live up to 20 to 30 years. However, their lifespan is influenced by various factors, including environmental conditions and human-related threats
Once listed as an endangered species due to habitat loss and pesticide use, the bald eagle population has rebounded significantly. In 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the endangered species list due to successful conservation efforts.
