Red foxes are known for their intelligence and resourcefulness. Foxes are vocal animals, and the red fox communicates using a range of vocalizations. These can include barks, screams, and howls, often used for social interaction and mating. The eerie, high-pitched scream of a red fox is distinctive and can be heard during the breeding season. 
 
The red fox's coat provides excellent camouflage in different environments, aiding in both hunting and avoiding predators. Their ability to move quietly and stealthily allows them to navigate their surroundings with precision.
 
Encountering a red fox in Yellowstone is a testament to the park's rich biodiversity and the resilience of wildlife in diverse ecosystems. These cunning and adaptable creatures contribute to the intricate web of life, adding a touch of wild beauty to the landscapes they inhabit.
 
Its difficult to catch a wild animal in a scenic photograph under ideal circumstances. While this fox and I were sharing a vulnerable moment during our photoshoot, my mother in law wanted to get a photo with her cell phone and came out of the car. She crunched the snow underfoot rapidly approaching essentially ending our friendship.
